Tim Roken just completed his fourth season as the Head Coach at St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia. Coach Roken guided the Hawks this year to a 12-1 record, a PIAA 6A State Championship victory and a Top 20 national ranking. The Prep has reached the state final each year under Roken, winning three (’19, 20, ’21) of four State Championships and compiling an overall record of 41-6 (33-2 in PA).
Prior to being named Head Coach, Roken was already a key piece in Prep Football’s success. After joining the program in Coach Gabe Infante’s first season in 2010, Coach Roken was promoted to Offensive Coordinator (OC) in 2011 and Assistant Head Coach/OC in 2012. In that role, Roken established his reputation as one of the area’s top offensive minds and helped lead the Hawks to State Championships in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018. Roken and the Prep have now participated in
9 of the last 10 State Championship games since the program won its first in 2013. The program has now won 7 State Championships overall.
Throughout his tenure at the Prep, Coach Roken has played an integral role in the development of his players on and off the field. Over 125 players have gone on to play at the collegiate level in his time at the Prep overall. Coach Roken has also worked with the US Army All American Bowl as a coach and administrator, including serving as the Offensive Coordinator for the 2016 East Team and being selected as the Head Coach of the 2022 East Team.
A Philadelphia native, Coach Roken played quarterback in the Philadelphia Catholic League at Archbishop Ryan High School before playing collegiately at East Stroudsburg University.
