Tom Sugden just completed his fourth season as the Offensive Coordinator at St. Joseph’s Prep
in Philadelphia. Coach Sugden guided the Hawks offense and helped the team to a 12-1 record,
a PIAA 6A State Championship victory and a Top 20 national ranking.
Sugden’s 2022 offense ranked No. 1 in the Philadelphia Catholic League in Points Per game,
(40) Total yds (393), Rushing offense (199.4), Passing offense (194.5) and had the fewest
turnovers (8). It also produced the PA 6A Player of the year QB Samaj Jones.
He joined the St Joe’s Prep staff in 2012 as Offensive Line Coach and was elevated to Run
Game Coordinator in 2013 by Coach Gabe Infante. He was promoted to Offensive Coordinator
and Assistant Head Coach in 2019 when Tim Roken was named Head Coach.
Coach Sugden has also worked with the US Army Adidas All American Bowl as an assistant
coach in 2017 and served as the Offensive Coordinator for the 2021 East Team.
A Philadelphia native, Coach Sugden played Offensive Line at East Stroudsburg University and
graduated in 2008.
